No, not for me. Just comes across as snobby, rambly, and completely of its time (which is a polite way of saying racist). One of those books where I felt like it might as well have been fiction because of how little I seemed to care about what was happening (which is rare for a non-fiction book).

This didn’t age well as literature for a magnitude of reasons. However, approaching it as a historical document that is very much a product of its time, and certainly of its author, this book gives a very intimate insight into the life and social attitudes of the rich and famous Brits of the 1930s, even if one learns comparatively little about Africa itself.
