In true Vi Keeland fashion, she successfully made me smile, swoon and pulled on my heart strings all in one book. Stella decides to crash a wedding, well her best friend convinced her to. When she received an invitation in the mail to a wedding at the NYC Library, she was so excited, then she realized it wasn't for her. Her ex-roommate was the intended recipient but she left Stella high and dry when she left so the least she could do was give her this.
What Stella doesn't bank on is that she meets the one person that knows she isn't who she says she is, and he's the bride's brother. Before he knew her "name" she could have sworn there was a connection, but that all fades away when he puts her on the spot and she is left embarassed and flees the venue. Unfortunately, she forgot her phone at the table so she has to see this jerk again and she wasn't wrong about the spark.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, and by iceberg I mean Hudson and his icy demeanor. It's no secret I love a grumpy hero, and this was no exception. I adored this story and the connection the two of them had. It was a bit more of a slower burn than I was used to, but it didn't bother me at all. I loved the whole diary aspect and drama. The only thing is that I wish that more of her family issues were dealt with and we were able to see more of the healing that went on there.

I grabbed this book on a whim, no expectations or synopsis check. Little did I know, it'd completely captivate me.

The characters were amazing - so relatable and realistic. Also, I loved how the storyline unfolds. It's a slow burn that took months within the story for everything to click into place, which felt just right given the characters' trust issues and past traumas. This made the romance feel real, not rushed or instant. Stella and Hudson's characters were so comfy, flirty, and authentic, like two people who just naturally gravitate toward each other.

It's a fun read, no heavy drama/misunderstandings among the characters, unique plot, and with a twist - even though I had a pretty good guess at it during the middle chapters. What struck me most was how the main issue in the book felt entirely realistic. If I were in Hudson's shoes, I know I'd have made the same decision.

All in all, this book is a real page-turner. I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear as I devoured it in just one sitting.

delightfully ridiculous premise

Stella'd never crashed a wedding before, but the invite was sent to a terrible ex-roommate and her best friend was a bad influence. So they went. At the reception, Stella used her old roommate's name like a dummy, forgetting that other guests would actually know the roommate. The host of the party figured it out and reacted creatively. On the upside, the bride loved that Stella crashed the party. [Plot things] Then Stella gains a love interest and new friend. hea.

Devoured this book in a day. It was quirky, cute and quick to read. I wish Stella’s story was told straight though instead of broken up. I appreciated that there wasn’t a forced break up but I like how the “final conflict” didn’t feel forced. Hudson POV chapters sometimes sounded so corny

There wasn’t a third act break up in this one so yay! Just a blip which you can easily predict. I was also ecstatic not to see the pregnancy trope. Really ended up enjoying this one.
