Cute story, good steam, sort of unbelievable relationship problems. Lots more telling than showing.

Wrapped Together is the fifth book in the Portland series. I haven't read all the books in the series, but I was able to enjoy this story without them! I'm a big fan of Annabeth's. I have read her Gaymers series and I loved it! Wrapped Together is Hollis and Sawyer's story. They are family by marriage, but they've been friends for years. Sawyer is fun, hot, sexy and loves life and the holidays. Hollis is buttoned up tight, hates Christmas and has had a huge crush on Sawyer for a long time. But, he tries to stay away from him. They are both attracted to each other and the fun loving Sawyer finds an in to Hollis' heart by trying to give him back his Christmas spirit. Hollis refuses to decorate or enjoy it since the tragedy three years ago. Sawyer goes nice and slow and Hollis starts to melt. Will Hollis take a chance on Sawyer? Can Sawyer finally crack the ice around Hollis' heart? I loved this story! Hollis and Sawyer are sexy, sweet and funny. I'm a huge fan of Christmas and this was perfect for me! Holiday spirit, sexiness and fun!

"I think I have a Hollis kind. You mention something and I instantly want to do it…with you."

Sweet with some hot kink. I admit I read the sex scenes about four, maybe five, six, seven, a buncha times. They aren't necessarily explicit, but I found them incredibly sweet in their mild kinkiness. Sawyer is so good at picking up what Hollis desired and that was damn hot. I'd have loved to see more in-depth rope play but it is just a novella, sigh.

3 stars - I liked it

This was another sweet and kinky story. Sawyer was such a happy and fun character. He embraced life and enjoyed everything he did. Hollis was a shy, introverted guy who is very proper. He had social anxiety and struggles with what others will think of him and his actions. I liked these two and their relationship. Sawyer was the perfect partner for Hollis because he brought him out of his grief and showed him how to live again. I also appreciated that while Hollis does start to let go of his grief and embrace his relationship, he continues to stay the same introverted man he was to begin with. I don’t love when authors think they need to change the core of a character because they are in a relationship with someone who is extroverted. Overall, this was one of my favorites from this series.

Trigger Warnings: references to parental death and grief

For the first 25% or so I thought it was going to be pretty unoriginal, but I loved the two men together and enjoyed the deepening of the relationship. Plus the sex scenes were well done.

Hollis is still grieving the loss of his parents 3 years earlier. Longtime friend Sawyer is determined to pull Hollis out of his funk. But Sawyer just might have more on his mind than a holiday fling. The more the reader comes to understand the complicated feelings Hollis has, the better this story gets.

This is ‘help the cranky person re-discover the meaning of Christmas’ combined with secret long-term crush on sibling’s bff - what can I say? Annabeth Albert writes very tropey mm romance.

I’m not a big fan of either trope but this was entertaining and pretty light, even with a strong helping of ‘letting go of grief.’
