This book went in a different direction from the previous two but in a good way! It gave off the same vibes as Feyre at the end of ACOTAR as she fought against whatever Amarantha threw at her. And like in ACOTAR, we could see Estrella's dormant powers slowly come to life. Still don't know what she is though, but she ain't human and she ain't really Fae!

Book 2 was about Caldris learning to let Estrella grow as she came to terms with their Fae bond. Book 3 was about Estrella learning to navigate the infamous Queen Mab's cruel court as she developed her powers. This book was also more graphic in its gore. Make sure you're not eating while you're reading!

When is the next book again? We need answers!

This felt like the info dump a series like this needs. Lots of world building and character growth, but I also felt like not a lot happened.

With that said, HOLY CLIFFHANGER. I cannot wait for book 4.

To start off, I highly suggest giving books 1 and 2 a reread if you are one of those people who forget what happens right after finishing a book. I found myself lost at times because I couldn't remember things that happened or certain characters.

We started off right where we left off with Estrella being captured by Mab and Caldris being left behind.
The second half of the book is definitely where the good stuff happens. The first half is a lot of just filler, and introductions. Do read the trigger warnings as this book is much darker than the last two. I believe it was described as graphic and it is really graphic in my opinion. There is less smut in this book than book 2 but the scenes we do get are still really good.

Caldris is still top tier boyfriend material. He will do anything and everything to protect Estrella and help her reach her full potential. Estrella is a bit more impulsive in this I think and at times I feel like she tries too hard. Regardless, I still really like Estrella's character and I am excited for more of her.

Let me say, chapter 35, exquisite (*Insert chef's kiss). And that cliffhanger though. I need more! I am excited to find out more about Estrella's lineage and I have my theories which I hope are correct!

Thank you to the author for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a tedious book so far. How many times will we have the changing POV only to hear how good and selfless the FMC is while not seeing it in the character herself. It’s repetitive and really annoying.

I don’t like being hinted toward a conversation that happens off page between the MC’s.
