Oh, the journey you discover when you read this! Individually, you watch Decker and Katherine on their own that bring them to each other. You can feel the emotions they held, the ones they fought, the fight they needed to hold onto in order to know what they wanted.

A road trip will always be the definition of finding oneself to me. Short, long, solo or with a partner, they always held such a big meaning of listen to your instincts, follow what your soul tells you. For Decker, it was about learning how not to hide from his past, to face things rather than abandon. For Katherine, it was about burying the past to make your future, a future were everything is an unknown.

It didn’t matter how long they knew each other, how long they watched each other when you are hiding part of yourself from yourself, no one will see your shine. I just loved how their darkness led to the brightest light they know. I love how they took each other in when they didn’t even know how much they needed it.

Our Dust Has A Pulse will sit with you. It will have you questioning when your next road trip will be because after reading you will know you are capable of all your dreams!

I really enjoyed this book! It had me reflecting a ton and questioning many personal decisions I’d made at the characters’ ages.

I didn’t care for Katherine during the first few chapters but when she finally started living for herself and was truly “free”, she completely blew me away. Her transition was rather sudden and felt a little unrealistic but I tried not to focus on that and instead enjoy her new found sassiness and honesty. Her bluntness was so refreshing and I absolutely adored her vulnerability.

Decker was incredible. Such a deep and sensitive character who deserved to find happiness. I loved how compassionate and caring he was for the heroine. There wasn’t a single thing I didn’t like about him.

Phoenix and Marcus were such an inspirational couple and brought so much joy and silliness to the story. I loved their chemistry and strength. It really helped shape how Decker and Katherine wanted their relationship to turn out like.

The ending was so sweet! It had me anxious for a bit, wondering how the author would wrap up the story but I absolutely loved the way things fell into place in the last few paragraphs! Such a beautiful HEA.

Bury me in angst people because this story is filled with it. From the start to end, this semi slow-burn featured Katherine and Decker who missed their window of opportunity a year prior to meeting before simultaneously ending toxic relationships down the line in which case they decided to embark on a road trip together towards Colorado for some self-discovery. I instantly fell in love with the relatable characters and their well mesh chemistry. It's hard to come across romance leads that blended well together and the author was able to execute this extremely well with her easy going writing style. Furthermore I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this contemporary feel good romance filled with realistic heart break and real emotional heartfelt moments that any reader could relate to, and needless to say, the author has gained a new fan.

An arc of this book was given to me by the author in exchange for a review.

This is a very high angst book. The characters spend an incredible amount of time overthinking everything. Some readers might really enjoy this, but it's not my favorite style. Although it's a road-trip story, not a lot happens as far as action. This made the pacing feel very slow to me.

The heroine is barely 19, but refers to her love-life as if she has many more years of experience and heartbreak under her belt.

There were some great quotes, which I've highlighted. There were numerous grammar errors which I assume will be cleaned up before publication. They did not affect my rating.

Recommended for fans of very slow, angsty burn. New Adult romance.
