This book is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a MM romance twist. Blaine gets kicked out of his family home for being gay and this sets us on our journey. This was a quick read. More of a fluffy read, can be considered an afternoon read. I finished it in only a few hours.

I enjoyed the great detail when explaining the sights and living conditions: “My gaze traveled across a sea of porcelain kittens in various playful poses and fell on a gold-leafed picture frame, dusty from what seemed like years of neglect.”

Not my favorite fantasy retelling, but not the worst. I tend to judge retellings harder if I like the original and Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête, 1740) is my favorite fairy tale. To me this came across more of making reference to the general themes of Beauty and the Beast.

*Reader Note: I received a free copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews (GRR) and this is my honest review.

yummy werewolf goodness

I absolutely LOVED Blaine, Beast and Rohan. Beauty and the Beast retellings are my favorite kind of retellings to read and this one is high up on the list for my favorite one.

I loved the lord the author put into this story and all the twists in turns as well. I was continuously guessing where the story was going to go and was always wrong! I loved how it turned out and I hope that there are more books with secondary characters involved. I need more grumpy Birch.

This was a pretty good retelling of beauty and the beast.
Its authentic and somewhat still follows the original storyline that makes the original works and felt magical.
Blaine was nothing like Belle tho he was way way better character.
Pretty predictable since I know what happened in the original story but there are still some moments that I couldn't predict what would happen next, near the end the story kinda dragged a bit although I appreciate the last chapter scene you'll know it when you read it.

The book was not bad but also not good. Insta-love is just not my thing and the chemistry between the MCs felt off. The last bit of the book felt unnecessary.

Idk if it’s just me but I was a bit disappointed when I found out that this was set in a modern age. I wasn’t expecting phones at all. But that just me though.

Overall it was ok-ish, but I could've seriously done without about the last 30 pages.
They were completely obsolete
