Book Riot 2018 #8-It’s an easy read about a really difficult period of our country’s history. How humans allowed (and worse participated in) such barbaric acts in the name of segregation blows my mind. This is a great book to introduce a middle schooler to the civil rights movement. Definitely start with book 1, but don’t forget to continue on with book 2.
