Read this out of curiosity, wanted to see what was the big deal. This book is not only very poorly written, but it has a very poor plot line and characters that are ridiculous at best and dislikable at worst. The story line makes no sense; you can tell it used to be bad fan fiction (for those who don't know, "Fifty Shades of Grey" was a "Twilight" fan fiction originally). But I guess people really read it for the sex scenes, so it wouldn't matter how poorly written it is, how there is no plot to talk of, and how the female character is a terrible role model for women (not because of her sexual choices, I admire that, more that she lets her life revolve around one man who treats her like she was an idiot). If I don't give this book a 1 is because at least for entertainment value purposes it gets you barely through it, so at least it is readable.

Absolutely awful. An incredibly toxic relationship seemingly held together by capitalism and malicious codependency. Even the smut wasn’t good. I’ve read better in fanfictions written by prepubescent children. I can’t believe this is as popular as it is. At least it was good for a laugh if nothing else. Though my eyes hurt now from rolling them so much. The plot was also nonexistent with no real tension and no beats to let you know it was going anywhere.
Anastasia’s narration was also terrible with her “inner goddess” making constant appearances for no reason at all.
Also, this is a twilight fanfiction. I’m tired of pretending that it’s not. The fact that the author thought it was “different enough” to publish is also hilarious. All the characters share the same personality and plot of the twilight books minus vampires.
An experience I wish I could scrub from my mind. Don’t read these.

This was an okay trilogy to me. I didn't particularly like it or hate it since it seemed like a rated R version of Twilight. I would only recommend this trilogy to anyone who is in love with Twilight or likes reading "mommy porn."

Not as nasty as I thought and I had to keep reading to find out what happens to them. Very entertaining read. Also very repetitive at times. Still loved it and might actually read it again.

I put these books off for a very long time because my mom read them and I felt weird reading them too...but I finally gave in after watching the movies and falling in love with them...it’s not just the sex...I really loved the story! And Dakota Johnson’s acting is fantastic and she has great comedic timing...anyways...back to the books. I read all three over a long three day weekend. The first two were great and I knew they would be after watching their movies. But since the last movie hasn’t come out yet, I had no idea what to expect for the final book. I was pleasantly surprised at the plot. And enjoyed every twist and turn. I nearly cried at one point which was very shocking...I would definitely recommend this trilogy if you love a good love story...and some kinky fuckery. ;D

Tosh! Badly written,to the point of being both under developed and over developed at the same time.
