3.5-4*
I liked this book. Story had a nice flow and the characters were well developed. I might have liked a bit more development in terms of the fact that they both lost their mother’s as children. It was a bit hard to keep all of Jace’s siblings straight and the story would have been better without the giant group texts. I found their dialogue really enjoyable, and really liked their interactions with cohen.

The book was overall good, gave me what I wanted in terms of banter and tropes and I will read more by this writer in the future for sure.

Now the bad, firstly what is the obsession with virginity by so many authors. Why oh why would this 22 year old woman who is strikingly beautiful with no specific moral code preventing it still be a virgin. The heart surgery scar wasn’t a good enough reason. It just felt like the writer wanted her to be pure and I don’t like that.

Next, the hockey aspects of this book were minimal but full of errors in terms of rules, terminology etc and it took me out of the book.

And lastly, the epilogue was not good. It felt rushed, and why did she need to get pregnant, she had just gotten her dream job and they never had a moment without a newborn as a couple. Give her some time to breath

Okay, so this was a really fantastic contemporary romance read!!! “Iced” is a single dad hockey romance that you won’t soon forget. Jace and Indy’s love story was beautifully swoony, and I just knew they were meant to be. This book had everything I would expect from a Bella Matthews book - laugh out loud banter, sizzling spice, a protective and possessive hero, and a sweet and sassy heroine who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself when necessary. I loved Jace, because despite the fact that he was young and at the start of his career, he stepped up the second he found out about Cohen, his son. I also think he has a big heart, but he’s not the kind of person who wears it on his sleeve. As for Indy, I loved how kindhearted and sweet she was. Indy didn’t just fall in love with Jace, she also fell in love with Cohen, and I think that’s really beautiful. I highly recommend!!!

I loathe insta love stories. This would have been exponentially better if the falling in lice phase lasted more than a literal 3 day period. Seriously. Vomit.

All the drama post them getting together was so predictable and unnecessary. It’s only purpose was to lengthen the book.

There are millions upon millions of ways to write a book and this one just ain’t it.
