A fun if lengthy read. I don't feel like I actually learned anything from the main story about Lando and Luke that hasn't already been revealed elsewhere. However, the side characters including Pryce, Ochi, Unkar Plutt, and a sith Acolyte of the beyond named Kiza were all extremely interesting and very well thought out. My favorite character, Komat, deserves her own book and the planet she lives on, Polaar, is one of my new all-time favorites. However, you could cut out about a hundred pages in the middle of this book where Luke and Lando are jumping from planet to planet just narrowly missing Rey's family and the book would be all the better for it. I expected to learn a lot about both the two main characters and their relationship after Return of The Jedi but frankly, there was barely any meaningful dialogue between them. The only real information we get about the two of them comes from Lando's depressed interior monologue. On Luke's side of things, we didn't learn anything new about his temple or the ideals of his new order which is what I was most looking forward to.
In conclusion, if you are looking to learn more about post Return of the Jedi characters that wasn't already revealed in live-action then this is not the book for you. But if you are at all interested in the sith, Palpatine's master plans for the galaxy, bounty hunters, and just generally awesome Star Wars people and places, then this book is perfect.
