Back again for book two in the Inheritance Games series. I liked the first one but this one was even better! Action packed with twists that I didn't see coming - even some that were "obvious" turned out to be res herrings.

Yes, it's definitely a YA series. So if that isn't for you, then leave this one on the shelf. But if you're open to a puzzle-packed mystery, full of ancient family drama, this one may just be made for you!

I loved the character growth for Avery and the Hawthorne brothers. I'm already looking forward to diving into book three when I can get it from the library!

I really enjoyed this second book in the Inheritance Games series. There were lots of twists and turns to keep the reader interested, though there’s literally so many that if you asked me to describe all the plot points to you now I definitely couldn’t do it.
I adored the further sprinkling of romance that we got, more of that please.
More and more about the late Tobias Hawthorne and his family unravels as the book goes on and we discover more about Avery’s history too and how it all ties together.
I enjoy the characters that Jennifer Lynn Barnes creates in this, particularly the Hawthorne brothers, and Avery’s friend Max. I also love that Avery is this intelligent, puzzle solving babe in her own right, but I am still Itching for Avery to have just that little bit more welly.
Overall a good read and I look forward to reading the next one.

Personally I thought this book was better then the Inheritance Games.
It was easier to follow along with the characters as we had already met them in the previous book and had gotten to know them. This made it quicker to get into the book.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ writing has definitely improved from her first book. The writing is more developed and detailed, making the book flow more smoothly.
The plot was brilliantly thought out. It was fast paced and intense, with twists and turns throughout the book.
The family tree is quite complicated. I really had to think about who was related to who and how to keep up with the plot.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would defo recommend to read it!
