I liked this, the art was good, if a little generic. As usual there were allusions to characters and storylines I didn't know, but that's expected, haha. Black Widow is cool, and I liked reading her written by a woman.

I don't think I have the words to describe how much I love this book.

Natasha is my favourite, okay. She's the best. She's so fierce it's unbelievable. She has so much heart that I can feel her pain bleed through the panels. All through reading I couldn't decide whether to cry or smile, because Natasha never gives up. She. Never. Gives. Up.

It's a beautiful book, in both writing and art, and I found myself pausing at times just to admire it, to study the colours and composition, how the art and writing worked together. It may sound weird, but this book felt tangible in a way that few stories do. The art is fairly simple, but it's strong and bold and somewhat impressionistic. It feels real and unreal at the same time, which I think helps the story along; this is a story rooted in Natasha's past, so it was apt. She was laid bare. We got to see her hurt and her love and her passion and strength. It's beautiful. It's so, so beautiful.

I also absolutely adore Natasha and Bucky's relationship in this book. They're so good together.
