Starting well with no extremely abusive character that we are supposed to cheer on. Maybe that trope is no longer happening? If so that is a relief.
You can't judge someone off of their appearance and school/work persona, and that's what this series tackles. It's fun and cute so far!
~4/5
I almost didn’t even pick this book up, but now I’m so glad I did. So unbelievably glad.
Hori is a popular girl at school, very stylish and nice. But when she’s at home, all she cares about is taking care of her little brother while her mother is away at work; she cooks and cleans, and doesn’t care about her looks. Miyamura, while at school, looks like an otaku loner, with long hair and a blank face. Outside of school, though, he has multiple piercings and tattoos and is a total sweetheart who wants friends. They’ve never really talked before, but when Miyamura ends up helping Hori’s little brother, they grow close.
Hori is kind of a motherly type around her brother, worrying about sales and making him food. But when at school, she works at keeping her image. When Miyamura sees her, she freaks out. Miyramura, though, is a total sweetheart, worried about getting in trouble at school for his piercings and tattoos. I love him.
Hori’s little brother is a cutie, too, and he instantly likes Miyamura. Aside form him, Hori has a girl friend at school, who doesn’t know anything about her home life. Then Miyamura makes friends with Ishikawa, a guy who has a crush on Hori. It’s surprising how open Miyamura is once he makes friends, and it’s nice to see it happen.
Even though most of this volume was about the friendships developing, there’s a clear romance forming between Hori and Miyamura, and they’re perfect together. This is only the first volume, and I’m already fangirling over it.
I can’t wait for the next volume.

This was such a cute manga! The drawings were superb and the depiction of Miyamura <3
I’m only giving it 4 stars though because it wasn’t as straightforward to read as the other manga I have read (Orange and Dreamin’ Sun).
Still this was an adorable read and I will definitely be carrying on with the series.

So good. It’s already much more fleshed out than the anime, and the comedic moments hit really well. I can tell I’m going to love this (and most likely purchase every volume physically at some point). Onto Vol. 2!

This is a review of the entire series (Volumes 1-16).
Heartwarming, funny and a very light read!

This rating and review is for the whole series.
A light--and sometimes stupid--slice of life manga. The premise is more like a running joke rather than actual conflict. And idk but is the comedy is getting more and more hilarious lately? The joke is not coming over and over like most comedy manga, but it always caught me unexpected and makes me go, "pfffffftttt" without control. lol.
But I really love how both Hori and Moriyama is not this doki-doki couple or angst dramatic couple, but rather a "bestfriend couple". You don't see much bestfriend couple who gets comfortable being on each other's presence without always thinking of making out or having sex on a romance manga. Reading theirmarried life smooth romance makes me want to cuddle and watching tv with those people I love.
