An amusing romcom — Ben accidentally finds himself in the role of male escort while trying to come up with money to pay for his father’s medical bills. He happens to meet Miryam who needs someone to play her ex-fiancé so she doesn’t have to break the bad news to her grandma. I didn’t love the hero’s attitude most of the time, for example, calling her a bitch a couple times after they first met (admittedly, she did punch him, but she thought he was groping her). The romance moved pretty fast—and yet was a bit of a slow burn at the same time. I wasn’t really invested in the relationship, but it passed the time in that sort of wacky romcom kind of way with an anxiety-ridden ferret, a stubborn but lovable father, and a feisty and fun grandma.
