Revolution Manifesto gives a series of essays that add food for thought while reading State and Revolution, I wish the first time I had read it I would have read these essays to read first.

The essays at the start do a great job of putting The State and Revolution into context, so that once you jump into Lenin's writing, you understand exactly what he's saying and why he's saying it. In order for humanity to have a future, Capitalism must end.
