This book was way over rated. I was expecting it to be phenomenal from what I heard. It was only ok. Sharp Objects by The same author was way better than Gone Girl in my opinion.

so far, the best book I’ve read all year. You know the book is good when you’re somehow still rooting for the villain. Definitely gonna watch the movie now!

This book is amazing!!!! I actually listened to the audio, which is very well done! Mystery, desire, intrigue, love affairs, everything that keeps you reading is involved. I definitely recommend if you want something that will truly keep your interest from page 1 all the way to the end!

I really can't believe I spent hours of my life on this book, only to get to the end and think what the hell? Really!

Okay it was well written to the degree that I don't think I liked any of the characters in this book other than Go, and their cat.

Can't really say much more without major spoilers and I've ready wasted enough time on this. So I shall leave it here.

I've seen the movie a few times and I really liked it, so of course I had to read the book. I always like to give the book a go to see what they do differently. There were little changes here and there but I understand they changed them in the movie to keep up the fast pace. On a recent re-watch I noticed that Gillian Flynn wrote the screenplay, so that's why it's very similar.

I had so many questions that I wanted answered after seeing the movie and I hoped the book would answer those questions, but it didn't. But after reading the book it gave me a better understanding of Nick and Amy, in the movie I felt sorry for Nick but after reading the book I think they deserve each other. Even though I was left wondering about things in the movie, I felt the book gave me a bit of closure to most things.

If you haven't read this or seen the movie, I'm warning you to be prepared for some f#*ked up stuff and there are no redeemable qualities about the characters but it's all worth it if you want to read something completely different.
