Kniha bola napísaná v roku 2018 a je to poznať, najmä pri kapitolách, ktoré sa venujú tipom, ako obmedziť používanie plastov - zdá sa mi, že mnoho z nich je dnes už všeobecne známych, v niektorých oblastiach sme dokonca zašli už aj ďalej a poznáme mnoho ďalších vychytávok. Čo je ale vlastne super, ako sme za tie dva roky pokročili. (Veľmi dobrý krok je, že Absynt ku knihe v slovenskom preklade pridáva aj tipy na slovenské akvivalenty spomínaných výrobkov či iniciatív.)
Okrem tipov na redukciu odpadu v domácnosti autor ponúka aj návody na to, ako svoj aktivizmus potiahnuť ešte ďalej a teda ako ohľadom konkrétnych enviro problémov konktaktovať príslušné úrady či zodpovedných, ako zorganizovať vlastnú eko akciu, vytvoriť petíciu či napísať tlačovú správu.
A ak by ste sa z ničoho z týchto tipov neišpirovali prakticky, kniha ponúka aj množstvo faktov, ktoré viete napríklad použiť ako argumenty v debatách s ľuďmi, ktorí problematiku plastov nepovažujú za problém, takže prečítať si ju sa určite oplatí.

I found this book really useful. I already knew plastic waste was a big thing, but I did not knew so many things in our daily life are made of plastic. It will be difficult to live without plastic, and the author states so, but there are a lot of things we can change individually in order to reduce our waste, and in here we are presented with some viable options.
Overall it's a well written book for anyone who wants to reduce the waste and the author does not blame anyone who needs to buy something made of plastic every once in a while. He states that should be a gradual change instead of a big one and shows us the importance of changing the mentality of big companies to produce less plastic and recycle the products they already have. It's a book that everyone should read.

This book was fine. But... it reminded me of a kid's school project. It was very straightforward. Best for absolute beginners. One extra star for being so diligent about including the views of people with disabilities.

Insightful and well-executed. I particularly loved the realistic take that plastic DOES have its benefits and it is ableist to assume everyone can get by easily without plastic. It just means those who are able to go without, should do so!

Incredible book, would highly recommend, it takes a very realistic approach to tackling the plastic pollution problem and offers up solutions that are actually doable. With the help of this book I feel like I can actually make an impact and contribute (even if it is only a tiny bit) toward getting us out of this mess.
