What if bunnies could talk. And plan. And strategize! The author was really thinking outside of the cage (or rabbit hole)! Remarkably great story.

I read this book in the lead up to the dimension 20 season Burrows End (which was absolutely fantastic) because the gm mentioned it was inspired in part by this novel. I loved these little rabbits and was so surprised by the whimsical adventure here! Cannot wait to read the short stories i found along with it!!

Not rabbits being the most brutal characters ever... Seriously did not expect to need an honest-to-God epic with rabbits as the protagonists in my life. So much is endearing here; I love the excellent world-building and characters, especially Fiver. I also have to say that there's so much to unpack about General Woundwort, particularly the way the other rabbits talk about him toward the end. I found him extremely compelling as an antagonist and foil to Hazel. The writing is lush as well, and that says a lot because I typically find a lot of description to meander and bore me, especially when it's hard for me to visualize things in books. A lot of care and detail are in this book. It's definitely worth its reputation.

First of all, I didn't realize this was about rabbits, but as far as books about rabbits leaving home and fighting rival warrens it wasn't bad. It wasn't as boring as I thought it was going to be, so I'll give it that
