Love a lighthearted romance with a smidge of fake dating! Melody and Jeremy’s characters were really likeable but they didn’t feel fleshed out enough and the plot was pretty predictable.

It was an alright book. Easy to read and the characters were generally fun. But the relationship wasn’t the most interesting, some plot points felt unnecessary (dead ex, mugging) and some characters were pointless but it was chill.

I really liked the blurb and I decided to read this one because of it but it didn’t really live up to my expectations. It’s not that it isn’t good, it had its moments and the characters were all so real in their own way. One of my favourite thing about this book was the friendship between Melody and Lacey, and I wasn’t a big fan of the MMC at first but I liked the character development. Overall it was an okay read and was quite short so if you’re looking for a fast paced read then you can, maybe, check this out but make sure you’ve read the TWs first before diving into it✨

Puh, hat das Buch einige Überraschungen parat. So „klischeehaft“ die Handlung auch klingt mag, sie weiß es den Leser mit einige unvorhersehbaren Wendungen zu schockieren. Außerdem war die Protagonistin einfach super und wusste genau, was sie will. Irgendwann hat sie Jeremy sogar gesagt, dass sie mit Menschen wie ihm nichts zu tun haben will und ist dann einfach gegangen – mega! Da habe ich meinen Hut vor ihr gezogen. Die Liebesgeschichte der beiden hat sowieso einige Ecken und Kanten – und ich habe es geliebt! Es war mal ein etwas anderer Liebesroman. Der 2. Band erscheint die Tage auf Deutsch und wird sowasvon auch verschlungen. Ich denke, ich habe eine neue Reihe für mich entdeckt.
Notiz: Ich habe das Buch auf Englisch gelesen und in einigen Rezensionen gelesen, dass die deutsche Übersetzung nicht immer gelungen sei. Den 2. Band werde ich auf Deutsch lesen und gerne berichten, ob das der Fall ist. Die Englische Version kann ich aber guten Herzens empfehlen!
