adventurous reflective sad medium-paced

I really loved this, it feels like it will be a collection of stories about the different beasts, but it's also a cohesive novel with an underlying story. The beasts are mysterious and tragic in their own ways.

Poetic. Starts out surface level, but then each chapter goes deeper. I loved all the interconnections and the MC’s journey.

Wasn’t what I thought it would be. The writing is translated from Chinese so difficult to follow and not poetic. The story is unusual but not compelling. Also too much of the plot revolves around sex - not my favorite.
