This book centers heavily around Ciri as a young girl in training to become the legendary woman she's meant to be by practicing her swordsmanship and magic, and studying Elder Speach.
The book flip-flops through several points of view, introducing us to Triss Merigold for the first time and her relationship with Geralt and the other witchers. Yennifer is of course in this book as well, but more in the background until a bit further on.
Not a lot happens in this book, but it's still enjoyable to read and listen to. I was expecting a war or some sort of battle involving Elves- that did not happen, at least in the obvious way. However, the novel did end on a high note making me look forward to the next volume of the series.
