Gotta be honest, I'm new to Lovecraft. I haven't read much, though I will say, I probably will read more after this collection of stories. It was a very well done collection, and I read through it pretty quickly. I will be picking up other stories in this world soon!
I have been in the mood for some horror themed novels, and when this one popped up for review, I decided to give it a try.
There are a variety of stories, in three different sections, and the anthology begins with a story by Lovecraft himself which really helped me kind of get into the mindset of where the following stories were going to go. This collection was all about the followers of Cthulu I realized, and I actually enjoyed that as someone who is new to the mythos, I was able to dive in pretty effectively, and not feel like I was completely lost.
If you enjoy short story collections, and Lovecraft's world, then I highly suggest this group of stories to you. They are very well written, the editing is very well done, and I can tell they only chose the best stories to go in the collection. I was on my edge of my seat for a few of them, and for others, I was just lost in the world. I really enjoyed the different perspectives and sections because each of the stories gave light to something different.
