Exactly what you want from a lighthearted romance. Cheesy but in an entertaining and self-aware way. It makes fun of romance tropes while also consciously falling into a bunch of them. The story is quite predictable and Charlie is a little too perfect to be real, but that’s what makes it so fun! It’s fast paced and I really loved the banter, especially in the first half of the book.

i did it !! hello, my name is lia, and i am nora stephens. i liked this more than i ever thought i would - nora’s “older sister” personality is so me that i found myself getting pissed at libby for her. i don’t care much for the romance, i do (??) but i’m way more into the family dynamics of this book and nora’s character development. so good!

I’m between a 2.5 and a 3 stars for this one.
I like Emily Henry’s writing but this was definitely her worst of the 3 adult romances. I loved beach read, thought PWMOV was enjoyable enough but not quite as good and then this one was just boring. I think it was too long and the characters were hard to connect with. Charlie felt like a dollar store Gus with his tragic backstory and Nora just seemed cold. Libby is Nora’s sister and felt very underdeveloped. They weren’t even rivals, they just had banter. I kept hoping for something to happen
