i never thought i'd say this, but i wish this book was fade to black.

LET ME EXPLAIN: i absolutely ripped through this. between it being due back at the library in 24 hours and my friend saying the sex scenes were extremely weird, i was intrigued. i love piper: she is an incredibly distinct character compared to many romance novels i've read. brendan is also great, but he's named brendan, so that's a point against him.

but when i tell you this book does a full 180 the moment they have sex, i am not fucking with you.

i've read things on ao3 that would make the pope combust, and they've had more logical progression and realistic dialogue than the smut in this book. i can't even describe how strange they are. it's not even the acts themselves (although the stuff in the dinner scene was pretty out of character for brendan) but a combination of just... all of it. it's so bizarre. i've never made such a face when reading smut before.

anyway, would recommend. cute plot, good characters, fish. it has it all.

title is stupid, though.

Absolutely hated this book. If I was one to DNF books, this would’ve been one of them.

The writing style and storyline read like something I would’ve written in middle school. Save yourselves.

Cute. Funny. Grumpy-sunshine. Spicy. I ate this up lol. Only reason it wasn’t a 5 star is the entire book being in 3rd POV. That I just couldn’t get behind.
