DNF at 35%. Story is a great concept but found book very dull.

I love this! A fantastic book for any music lover or anglophile. The book on tape is GREAT.

Quick, easy read. Enjoyed the character development.

A little silly and too fantastical

Frank owns a music shop on Unity Street. Actually, Frank will only sell vinyl records; no cd's, no matter how popular they are in the 1980's. Frank also has a unique way of sorting and displaying his records. They are not by artist or alphabetical. Frank sorts them by type--those that tell a story, those that create a mood. He has an amazing ability to recommend music to people based on their needs, because he really listens to his customers. One day, a lovely young woman, Ilse Brauchmann, enters Frank's shop and his world is forever changed. Frank and the other shop owners on Unity Street become part of Ilse's story, and she theirs. This is a lovely story about friendship, community, and love.

Quirky and compulsively readable, this was a joy from beginning to end. Bonus if you made a playlist of everything mentioned as you were reading it!

Can I give this more than 5 stars, please? Simply for the joy it brings?

I found this book on a lower shelf at Gene's Books on Sanibel. I was immediately attracted to it.

Then I began to read, and I was pulled in to the utter delight in the characters, the music, the plot.

This is a book that sends you to YouTube looking up songs mentioned, and you find a community of people who have already done the same thing while reading this book.

This is a book that is satisfying in every way a book should be.

This is a book with a playlist on Spotify.

This is a treasure that would make a wonderful movie. Hope it's in the works.

This book will NOT be given away. It is a clear favorite and will be for years to come.
