Review coming soon. This series was probably the most unique and extraordinary series I’ve ever read. Probably in all of 2021 thus far.

When I first picked this series up, I was probably too baffled by how “extra-ordinary” it was. There were such emphasis on locations, entertainment references, literary references and everybody was so original, that I found it all quite jarring at first. Not to mention how I also found the female lead a bit too much of hot mess. So I put it down, and promised to start it again, when I wanted to read and learn the lives of such ‘full’ characters another day. Come April, I picked it up again, and given my state of mind I couldn’t put it down. And subconsciously I started annotating locations, restaurants, books and streets I wanted to journey through, thanks to this series. Julian, the male protagonist was probably the male version of ‘Tatiana’ from Paullina’s Opus Magnus, The Bronze Horseman. Dare I say he is the modern male inspiration for all us women in 2021: Kind, handsome, humble, relentless, unassuming, a boxer (

Is there a fate beyond the fates?

Julian has failed Josephine once. Despite grave danger and impossible odds, he is determined to do the unimaginable and try again to save the woman he loves.

What follows is a love story like no other as the doomed lovers embark on an incredible adventure across time and space

Living amid beauty and ecstasy, bloodshed and betrayal, each time they court and cheat death brings Julian and Josephine closer to an unthinkable sacrifice and a confrontation with the harshest master of all…destiny.

Thank you Goodreads and William Morrow for a chance to read A Beggar's Kingdom # 2 of the end of forever series!!

“Two together is always an adventure.”

“And that’s what we were,” Edgar says “Adventurers. Nobody cares how we suffered. Nobody cares if man has made the worst journey before he died, or the easiest.”

“What matters,” Julian says, quoting Bukowski from long ago, “is how you walk through the fire.”

And let me tell you Julian definitely walks through the fire when it comes to finding and getting to Josephine. I really enjoyed this book. I haven’t read the first book yet but I will be going back and doing that very soon. This book just has a way of capturing you and not letting go until its ready. There's a lot going on in this book and I mean that in a good way. I think that is one of the reasons you get stuck reading this book. I’m looking forward to see the next book in this series. Happy reading everyone!!

Even better than the first book in the trilogy. Paullina Simons has never written a book I didn't like, but this is one of her best. Watching Julian travel through time again and again to save the life of his love, the unlikable, dramatic, and driven Josephine is so romantic. I can't wait for the last book.

Needed better editing, it waffled a lot, and of all the 'Josephine's in this book I only liked one. Only one nice woman, and Julian is such a mish mash I can't get a grasp of his character really, he doesn't feel solid. But I've started so I'll finish - on to the final book...

Really wanted to rate this higher however at 600 pages it was just too long. The second installment in the End of Forever story lost momentum. There were parts where I was fixated and parts that dragged that could've been cut. Hopefully the third book redeems itself as I found the first installment so riveting.

The Tiger Catcher was a 3/5 and this one is a 3.5/5.
The story definitely picks up in this book. I was able to watch the love grow more, and become more connected with their love, especially with Mirabelle. I really do still love Paullina Simons. She doesn't just give life to characters but she gives life to the setting as well.

I do love the back and forth between the centuries. I also really love Julian. He's had considerable character development already and I LOVE it. The only thing holding it back is that it picked up halfway through the book. Only halfway did I really start becoming intrigued. I feel as though if Paullina dragged it on a bit more, allowed more time for each of the girls, I would have felt that connection to the characters sooner.

Ava and Devi together is a duo I never realized I wanted, which I also loved.
