This book is recommended for fans of Fifty Shades. This book was great. I thought the characters were great and they have amazing chemistry. Also, I love Jesse! He is really handsome and smart. Ava came across as a little bit dramatic. The first part of the book we are seeing the characters and how how they met and so on. As the story continues, we get to see their story unfold more and more. Ava has to come to terms with the world Jesse is accustomed to. The last chapters of the book were amazing. I think this is a great first book of the series. Let's see where the rest of the rest of the series goes from here.

This book is trying so hard to be like 50 Shades but it falls flat.

I hated the way Jesse spoke to Ava at times (telling her not to swear got on my nerves) and tried to control her every move. Im sorry but if a man moved you into his house without consulting you, common sense tell you to run for the hills because there is something wrong with that.
Another book that ends in a cliffhanger making us wait to see what happens next, however I dont think I really care.

Więcej scen seksu niż jakiejkolwiek fabuły, jeszcze żeby były jakieś dobre, a to w kółko w sumie to samo.
Nic sie nie dowiadujemy jako czytelnik o tym typie, nawet tego ile ma lat, o kij chodzi z blizną NO NIC.
Ludzie litości.

Loved this one! I can't wait to read book two!

Okay so I just finished This Man and it was freaking Awesome!! Even though i love it, i'll admit that Ava is fairly flighty which can be a bit annoying. Regardless of Ava's indecision I thought it was so much better than 50 Shades, although they haven't done any sex scenes like what 50 Shades has. Their relationship is kinda rocky though mostly due that he try's to control her and she doesn't want to be controlled. Definitely gonna read more because you still don't know too much about their relationship other than that he owns a sex club. Must, must, must read the second book and I'm sure it'll be great as well!!

I find myself skimming the last 20% of the story but I probably will continue to read what happens next.

Are you f&@?ing kidding me? I tried to read this book, I did. I could not get past 15% and that was pushing it. Terrible.

At the insistence of a very good friend of mine, and her continued gushing, I picked up this book and gave it a try. While it was by far not a top favorite of mine, I could see what my friend saw in the characters and I found that overall I enjoyed the story.

My main gripe with This Man is that it’s so like a lot of other things I have read. You’ve got the mega rich hero who is hiding all kinds of dirty secrets and a heroine who just can’t walk away from him because the sex is just “sooooooooo good”. Sure there are a few twists that kept me guessing but at its core it doesn’t really differentiate itself from its competitors. The writing is well done though and I found myself drawn into the story despite my misgivings. Bottom line is that Malpas kept me interested. Maybe it was the speech of the book, the English dialect that was very well done or the imagery she conveyed…whatever the reasoning I stuck with the book from beginning to end and found myself liking these sometimes unlikable characters.

Jesse Ward is one of those heroes that skirts the line between alpha guy and “you should kick him in the nuts for behaving that way” guy. He’s pig headed and completely determined to get his way with everything. From business to Ava he is single minded and willful to the point of me wanting to punch him in the throat. He had brief moments of sanity where he made decisions that Ava could live with, but my God, there were times when I thought she let him get away with too much. I also kept wondering how Ava was keeping her job just because of the sheer amount of time she spent with Jesse NOT working. How did her boss not notice this? I mean she’s off having sex with this man ALL THE TIME. Very hot sex I might add, but still there is not a lot of mention of her other clients except for one I foresee causing problems later on. For someone working for such a prestigious design company I figured she’d be a bit busier.

The last chapter of the book both pissed me off and ensured that I pick up book two. I kinda hated Jesse in that last chapter for trying to make Ava feel bad for something she knew nothing about and was not in her control. Ultimately he is to blame for his own decisions and for him to try and lay that on her was classic “user” behavior. Always looking to blame anyone but themselves. What it did do though is make me want to keep reading to watch him try and win her back. That ought to be some good reading.

This Man is one of those over the top books that has an angsty, this could never happen in real life, feel. It’s a good read for someone looking for something hot and fun. Malpas sets the scene well and engages readers with ease.

I give This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas 3.50 stars!

DNF @ 17%

I don't know why I can't get any further ugh. I love Jesse but Ava is getting on my nerves already LOL

I'm sure this would have a higher rating of someone hadn't told me the entire series.
