A really good list of authors to read from, and I've got a much longer reading backlog because of it! It's not much more than that though IMO; the biographies of each writer seemed scarce, and more space was given to the story summaries.

This was a great introduction to Women writers of the horror/gothic/science-fiction genre. I knew about 10% of them and was very excited to find out more about them and to get to know more writers. I added a few reads to me TBR-list thanks to this audio book. The only downside was that the description of the lives of these women were very short and sometimes even sparse. I guess, this is the downturn of adding so many names to the book. However, it is great to have such a compilation to get back to when on the hunt for new reads. I also very liked the introduction and classification of the writers at the beginning of each chapter.

Excellent reference book for female horror writing, exploring the changes in horror themes alongside the feminist movements.

i think this book was neat but i'm not sure who the audience is for it. sometimes i feel like it's for a younger audience and then others i feel like i'm too young for it. it just wasn't for me, but cool concept!
