I thought that this was a nice little incert into the story line, but I wasn't wow'd by this book. I think it was a little dry.

They got the banter down, but the villains and plot don't really tonally fit Sunnydale. The artists were clearly more skilled at action scenes and struggled when the Scooby Gang were just being normal humans doing normal things.

A good enough story for a graphic short story :-) -- The artwork was a little weird, as the people didn't look like our stars, I suppose that is okay in the overall scheme, but I had to focus to tell the difference between Willow and Cordy -- and Xander was much too cool looking :-).

The writer did get the voices right though, i could hear them saying the things he had them say. nice.

Dan Brereton created a fun little stand alone Buffy story set early in the television series, season two after the Master. A lot of fun, pop culture laced banter, basically what you would expect from a Buffy story. My two knocks on it are that it felt that there was a jump or two in the story that could have used a little more explaining, and that Willow and Cordy were often hard to distinguish, not sure if that is because of the way they were penciled by Hector Gomez, inked by Sandu Florea or the coloring from Guy Major, my guess is a combination of the three. It didn't take away from the story as a whole, but it was distracting and when it comes to graphic novels, the art comes hand in hand with the story.

This by far the best comic on Omnibus Vol. 2. It felt more like the show was. My only complaint is that Willow and Cordelia looked like the same character in their scenes together.
