I'd read this author's work before but was unimpressed by it, so I went into this one hoping it would be better. It was, a bit, but it also wasn't. Granted, it was longer than the previous book I read, but it was just as unbelievable as that first book. I really couldn't believe that the man that hurt True would just get away with it like it was described. There were too many witnesses to her report to have it just 'go away' like the author said it did. I didn't like Nick at first, but his willingness to defend True had him growing on me. There also wasn't really much of a romance, more like they just fell into old patterns. The second and third attacks on True felt forced, fake, and unrealistic, which could be perceived as offensive to rape survivors. All things considered, it is more of a 2.5 star read, but ultimately forgettable.
