I wanted to read this book because I read the first book in the series last year and everyone said this series just gets better and better. This storyline was not what I was expecting at all considering we’ve met these two characters in the previous books, but I enjoyed it and I think Josh Chen might have become my favourite man out of the twisted series (so far).

This book has two points of view. The first is Josh Chen, he is Ava’s brother. He is gorgeous, cocky and fast on his way to becoming a hotshot doctor. Josh has never met a woman he couldn’t charm – expect for Jules Ambrose. The beautiful redhead has been a thorn in his side since they met, but she also consumes his thoughts in a way no woman ever has. He hates her . . . almost as much as he wants her. When their animosity explodes into one unforgettable night, he proposes a solution that’ll get her out of his system once and for enemies with benefits arrangement with simple rules. No jealous. No strings attached and no falling in love. The second point of view is Jules Ambrose, she is Ava’s best friend and a former party girl who is focused on passing the attorney’s bar exam and becoming a kickass lawyer. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a doctor who puts the suffer in insufferable, no matter how good-looking he is. But the more time Jules and Josh spend together, the more they realise they have more in common. Her best friend’s brother, her nemesis and her only salvation. Theirs is a match made in hell, and when the demons from their past catch up with them, they’re faced with truths that could save them or destroy everything they’ve worked for.

I enjoyed the storyline of this book. I loved the hate between Jules and Josh and how it was a “I shouldn’t like this, but I'm addicted” sort of love. I loved that we got to know a bit of Jules and Josh in the first two books of the series and then we got to see a completely different side of them. I didn’t think Josh would have so much a dirty mouth and so many freaky kinks. I was expecting him to be a cinnamon roll and all fluffy and instead we got so much more. Same for Jules, she seems like a party girl who just wants to settle down and the whole time I just wanted to hug her after reading about her trauma and what her ex-boyfriend did. I loved the dual POVs and I love it in every one of these books so far especially when something happens, and you just want to know what the other person is thinking. I loved getting the little insight of Alex and Ava’s proposal and Alex being a soppy git just warms my heart after how he was in Twisted Love. I loved that Alex and Josh made up, they were pissing me off hating each other and I missed their banter. This book was fast-paced and a lot of smut and a lot of twists and turns.

The only reason that it’s not five stars is the small chapters and the “I said I forgive you, I lied” chapter just rubbed me the wrong way. Also, third act break up still drives me nuts especially when there was no good reason for it. I loved Josh until those chapters, and I was so disappointed.

This is the second time that Christian Harper has made an appearance and I am dying for more so I can’t wait for the last book of this series.

Josh and Jules from the prev books in the series is pretty much what I expected since they don't like each other, so it's like what's the flip side of hate??

4/5 🌶️

I just found the whole plotline of Jules backstory and in specifically Josh's reaction to the whole thing (basically almost killing someone) absurd.
