Good grief lol this was riveting and very entertaining but I'm not sure how I really feel about it all so I just have to laugh and say it was a good time. I'm very curious why this isn't a longer story or short novel though.... I feel like there could have been more. But I have to say it was very well done albeit very weird. Which is probably what she was going for anyway.

It was a super quick read but good. And now I have that Garfunkle and Oates song stuck in my head.

I loved the first half of the book, but once I got to the end where Susan "disappears" downstairs & Miles leaves with the main character, I lost interest. It was so longgggg. The exposition through dialogue was uber boring & unnecessary. Also, I hate that Flynn makes us question...what really happened? Who was the evil one? Just tell me. I hate loose endings. It shows a weak narrative because it seems like the author couldn't make up their mind and structure a tight plot so they're like, "Oooh let me just make up 2 endings so I don't have to go further with one..." I didn't care for this story's ending. Wish it were stronger.

This was my first read of Gillian Flynn and all I can say is “Wow!” This is a short story that pulled me in and was such an interesting psychological thriller. I was not expecting the plot to unfold as it did; in all honesty I still am not sure which story to believe in. This is probably my favorite use of an unreliable narrative being used in any book. It’s neat how Schrödinger’s cat idea was used at the end too. I’d be interested in reading a sequel of this story but not sure it will ever come about.

This, being my first Gillian Flynn book, was fantastic. The audiobook narration was top notch and the story was incredibly captivating. The only thing holding my rating back is the fact that the ending kept doing things that felt unnecessary and bizarre. But overall this was spooky and thrilling which is exactly what I wanted!
