This novella had me seriously questioning reality. Gillian Flynn once again creates a compelling story and believable character. I can't get enough of her writing right now. Loved it.

Unfortunately the weakest of Gillian Flynn's works to me. I haven't read a ton of short stories but I do feel like it's not really for me. I like character building and it's really hard to get to know a character in 64 pages. It was interesting and I liked the twists at the end but it felt rushed. I think this could easily be made into a full length novel and I would've enjoyed it more, but it fell flat the way it was.

wow i thought this would be horrible but it was actually great ? the only problem, for me, was the twists and turns the ending brought in such a quick time, it didn't feel coherent nor fluid, just felt something the author had done to shock the reader. a fun, quick read.

Quick, gritty "ghost story" with an ending that left me oddly satisfied that I didn't get all the answers. I can't say much more without getting into spoilers given the very short length, but it was just the right size for this tale.

*4.5 stars This was super short and the beginning wasn’t particularly amazing, but I really really enjoyed where the story went. Definitely would recommend for a creepy short story.

It had me at the first sentence. There are no unnecessary parts, the pacing of the story was okay, and I liked how Gillian Flynn delivered the suspense. It was too short though. For me, this story can be transformed into a novel if Gillian wanted to.
