WHY IS THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE EPILOGUE IN PARTICULAR LIKE THAT, THOUGH??

I was enjoying myself all throughout the book (ESPECIALLY THE SUPER CUTE SCENE WHERE MAOMAO MAKES JINSHI LAUGH ON PURPOSE HULLO) until the fucking EPILOGUE and then I had to go look it up and find a thread on Reddit by some dedicated fans that clarified what the original Japanese was ACTUALLY saying. God bless them, honestly. Because otherwise I was horrified.
