Two kids just growing, learning and figuring shit out.
I am a bit old for this, but it was still a great story. Loved that it had demisexual rep.

this book: "hey! you're actually not a robot! you have feelings! remember pre-quarantine when you were an emotional wreck? well this is what it felt like in case you forgot. your welcome!"

it physically hurt how much i related to both frances and aled on an emotional level (not intellectual though,, i could never be as smart as either of them lol). different parts of their personalities and how they felt at different times hit home so much that it stung. ALED. my heart. he, i- the last fourth of the book had me on the verge of tears. he has some of the best friends, like, ever. prepare to feel like you've been stabbed in the heart with the knife twisted around just for good measure. quarantine has put me in this emotionless stupor where everything feels the same and nothing seems real anymore. welp, this book was definitely a wake up call. i guess i am sadly human after all. *pouts*

also, the internet sucks. people online can be the absolute worst. like aled, i wanted universe city to remain anonymous. i was almost as angry and sad as aled when his identity got leaked. but the thing is, i've also been one of those people on the internet who wants to know everything about my faves and will sometimes go internet digging when i am bored. IT'S NONE OF OUR BUSINESS WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE CAN WE ALL JUST AGREE TO RESPECT THEIR PRIVACY? PLEASE? ok thanks for coming to my TedTalk™

oh btw, shoutout to frances's mum, the true MVP. we stan supportive parents.

this book is a combination of "You've Got a Friend in Me" by Randy Newman and "Once You" by Jacob Collier, but like add in 50 more warm hugs and blankets

*edit: i have declared daniel and aled's theme song to be "Time to Rest Your Weary Head" by Jacob Collier, and frances and aled's is "Comfort Crowd" by Conan Gray

It’s just to slow. It’s like I’m being dragged along, I didn’t enjoy a lot of it but man sometimes you gonna move on a little.
