WOW

So I found myself spending money I didn't really have to buy this book as I needed to know what happened. This whole story was a wild ride that I am glad I was a part of. At times I loved the characters and at other I wanted to kill them and I think that is what made it such a good read.

Unnerving

I won’t mince words. There is nothing pleasant about these books. These characters are dark and twisted. Underhanded and malicious. The only thing propelling me to continue is the hope that there is some kind of HEA in the end. The angst and torment these characters endure and inflict on each other is palpable. For the 2nd installation I give it 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ not because the book isn’t good but because the same disturbing and disgusting themes continue to permeate these pages. I wanted something new to be introduced. Something to add levity and lightness to all the dark themes. Hopefully the next book will provide that.

4⭐

Okey so, as I got crazy and too stunned to speak from the first book. This one continued on that theme. I was blushing, I was hiding, I was annoyed. I felt a lot. Not from the spice tho, because it wasn't thaaat spicy. I mean there's certain scenes that had me squirming. there was so much tension in this one (the maze had me jumping around) . Royce still annoyed me a bit but there's just so much chemistry between him an Marist. However, It was daddy Hale, that made me blush but also uncomfortable. I almost switched teams to him at certain points. He got me acting up. I need him with another girl though, Marist is not for him. Not at all.

On to the third one. I feel like I just want. No need, to get to the forth book which is Daddy Hale's book

As with the other Nikki Sloane books I have read, it’s wonderful storytelling. And amazing character depth. And that’s what I struggled with. Macalister gave me the creeps and every scene he was in was made me phase and made getting through the story hard.

Now this book confused the fuck out of me because it made me want things I undoubtedly should NOT HAVE. Macalister is a sick son of a bitch but I still wanted him to win over Marist for some reason and I also wanted her to have Royce too. How the hell do you choose between father and son when they are so much alike yet different. This book is a damn head trip or maybe it’s me who’s sick but either way it’s a fucking good book.
