This book did make me cry. I loved all of the varied relationships in this book. And I loved reading about this family that is so different yet so similar to mine. It made me feel connected to Sy and gave me an insight into Iranian culture that I haven’t found before.

a light read, a little second hand embarassment at times but nice and calm.

Darius was truly great.
I can’t describe how much I loved this book, it made me feel so many emotions: sadness (I was sobbing at one point), anger, happiness, and mostly hope, it made me feel so hopeful for Darius at the end. It made me laugh too.
I loved more than his relationship with his dad, how it was developed and the one with his Mamou and Babou and sistet and mom.
But mostly I loved his relationship with Sohrab, Darius carefulness and Sohrab openness and how they complemented each other.
