This story takes a long time to get anywhere, and the plot wasn’t strong enough to get me to keep reading.
Putting this book on hold - was reading to Orin but he thought it a bit scary. We're going to pick a different book for now and I'll at least come back to this on my own in a bit.
3.75.
I finally finished this book! It was a great adventure book. I really enjoyed the characters. It took me a while to get through it, but that’s because of my aversion to long books, not because of the book itself.

Erg fantasievol. Voor een jeugdbeweging worden er wel een aantal lastigere woorden gebruikt. Ik vond dit echter geen probleem. Op een gegeven moment duurde het me allemaal wat te lang en vond ik het langdradig worden en ik had geen heel tevreden gevoel toen ik het uitlas. Toch een mooi boek die op een leuke manier verteld over hedendaagse problemen.

The good - could consider the whole book as an extended vocabulary lesson of adjectives piled one on top of the other. Some kids seems to enjoy it.
Meh? What do you get when you cross narnia with Ruppunzil with every anthropomorphic tale since and before and between.
It was long, very long. And the audiobook version is read by Amanda Plummer who must have the most annoying voice ever for listening to at any speed from 1x to 1.75x nothing sounded good

A children’s book, but written for adults. Super enjoyable and interesting. Definitely a quick nostalgic read for me. Excited to read the trilogy!

A bit too dark and violent for a Young Adult novel, but maybe I'm just old fashioned.
