I feel like the book redeemed itself in the last few chapters; I felt like the slow burn was a little TOO slow for my taste and I wish there was a little more emphasis on the non-romantic plot lines but then maybe I shouldn’t read a romance book for that. Was so happy for everyone in the end but I also think maybe I don’t love reading straight romance.

I am really enjoying this series. It’s a fun, easy read and the characters are so lovable!
August and Sloan were a delicious slow burn. There were times where it felt slightly too slow but I was still invested!
I found August to be SO sweet and genuine. I love the juxtaposition of a big football player being a gentle and thoughtful softie off the field. His endless support for Sloan and her drive was swoon worthy 😍
I also really enjoyed Sloan’s character! She is considerate and understanding and just wants to use her skills to help others succeed.
Again, like with the first in this series, there still hasn’t been a single football game or practice involved for these nfl players 😂 I feel like them being football players is simply a device used to explain why they have all this money to run this cupcake business. It has basically zero impact on the stories so far

I loved the premise but the burn was so slow, I was rolling my eyes halfway through every time they lose their breath when the other walks into a room. I rated it higher than I would’ve because the eventual spicy scenes are top notch, but I don’t think I’d read another by this author.

This book was a perfect quick read. My main motivation for picking this was " I haven't read a book with a dreadhead, yet" lol. I love this couple. I can how this is going to be a trilogy. I just finished the first book. This book has been my favorite so far. August has nicely paced character development. I enjoyed Sloane as a character. I felt that I was able to relate to her. I respect that she was able to shoot her shot at a young age. That was bold 😅. I felt the story was wrapped up nicely in the end.
