This was a cute, albeit slow romance, and I don't just mean slow burn; I mean slowly written.  It took half of the book to finally get somewhere and to see emotion from August. Once August stopped dodging and decided to take his life and relationships into his own hands,   Sugarbae was born, and thankfully, the books pacing increased.  I enjoyed the back story of August and Sloanes' relationship along with August and his dad's relationship. It really allowed the reader to understand why August was so content on being a background player in his own life story. It took the women in his life (both past and present) to help coax him out of his comfort zone. Strong women was definitely a driving theme in this story, and kudos to the author for bringing that to the forefront.

This was SWEET! I loved the first one, so I was excited to read this one!! I love that professional football players own and work in a cupcake shop, I think it’s such a fun idea! This was a sloooow burn but August snd Sloane had some complicated history! So it was nice to see them finally have the proper time to figure things out!

I loved that August did things he was uncomfortable doing FOR Sloane. He wanted to make sure she got everything she deserved! There were just a lot of little things that were so sweet. I loved how easy it was for them once they finally gave in, got past their reservations and their fears!

Here’s hoping we eventually get a book for Nicholas! Because I am in fact invested!
