This story is not as good as Pulp, which was the first story I read by Brubaker. It's a short read (~25 minutes) and it certainly isn't boring, but it's just not terribly compelling.
Definitely not bad, and I'm still looking forward to reading more of Brubaker's work. If nothing else, this is an attractive book for the shelf.

First Brubaker that really felt like filler. Nothing here, in the story, worked. It was just writing on a page.

I thought setting it at a comic convention was a different idea. And the insider references to comic creators helped make it a little more realistic.

Noir-ish look into the comics industry of the 1970s via a story set in the 1990s. Fascinating peek behind the scenes at skullduggery such as the black market in the sale of faked animation cels.

Brubaker and Phillips with their awesome noir style ala Criminal, but set at a comic con. A fun, quick read

Damn.
This is one of those stories you really have to finish to get the full impact.
