I really loved learning about all the different characters and their back stories and how they connect with one another and how granny wove them into the fairy tales. I also loved the bond and love between granny and elsa. I really feel for elsa and wish she could have had her grandmother longer. I do agree that sometimes the way elsa talked and sidetracked made it hard to keep my attention as another review mentioned. But overall a really great book.

I love him as an author, but this book didn't get me engaged. I don't really like fantasy novels, so building the fairytale right into the story, just wasn't engaging to me. I can certainly see how some people loved it, just not for me.
