I wasn’t sure about this book at first. There’s quite a bit to follow, but I really did end up enjoying this book very much. I actually have laughed aloud and cried and felt so many things while reading. I actually have taken screenshots of parts that moved me or made me think. And as a huge Harry Potter fan, hold a special place for Elsa in my heart.

First book I've read in a long time that made me feel like a kid hiding under covers to read by flashlight at least one more chapter before giving in to sleep and responsibilities. Absolutely loved it!

Jag älskade boken om Ove så när denna kom ut hängde jag på låset. Sedan hörde jag massor av åsikter om "sagoberättande" och andra negativa saker. Därför har stackars mormor blivit liggande på läsplattan, nästan helt bortglömd. Tills den nya boken om Britt-Marie släpptes och jag hörde att denna Britt-Marie även är med i Min mormor hälsar och säger förlåt. Då var det bara att ta tag i det där jobbiga och läsa. I wish I cared about the fairytale aspect of the story, but I didn't. I did end up kind of liking the book, but it's definitely not my favorite of Backman's.

Very simply, it’s a story about story telling, told by a skilled story teller. The large cast of characters are well developed, unique entities that you wind up caring about.
