I found this book difficult to follow at times as the narrator Elsa's thoughts flip back and forth from real life to her storytelling. Considering this book is told from the perspective of a child, I found that really hard to read as well. It's not a bad book by any means and I would really like to know what happens, but I just can't bring myself to finish reading it at this time.

He's done it again! A whimsical tale dealing with loss and growing up. While the characters are not as layered as in A Man Called Ove, there is strength into the author's ability at capturing the voice and perspective of a child.
A carefully spun, bitter-sweet story about family, grief and forgiveness. It’s 4 stars and not 5 stars for me because I did find myself getting tired of hearing the tales from the Land-of-Almost-Awake (and I do apologize for my impatience, but it’s the truth). Regardless, Mr. Backman has crafted another piece of “quality literature” (as our protagonist Elsa would say) and I’m very glad I read it.
