Neither book really hit! There are so many action scenes that I just don’t feel like were written very well? Bummer, I wanted these to be awesome starts to the spooky reading season

I wanted to like these stories. But in Killer on the Road, Harper makes dumb decision after dumb decision. And maybe that was part of the point of the story, but it was frustrating as a reader.

At first, I wasn't really sure how I felt about Killer on The Road but I ended up really enjoying it. I enjoyed The Babysitter Lives from the start and when I figured out it was a haunted house story I was hooked. If I were rating these stories by themselves I'd probably give Killer on The Road a 3.5 or 4 and The Babysitter Lives a 4.5. So overall a 4. This was my first Stephen Graham Jones book and I am so excited to read more. Both of these stories also genuinely scared me

I don’t think SGJ’s writing style is for me. I dnf’d My Heart is a Chainsaw as well but I wanted to give his books another chance. Maybe third times the charm, but not for awhile.
