I’ve probably read this book more than anybody else out there. And that’s not even an exaggeration.

A Dirty Job has always been THAT book that I think about all the time, at least once a day, since the day I first read it in like 2014. It has been a book that’s been consistently a favorite for years and I’m always excited to revisit its pages, even though I know what transpires from front to back.

This book is funny, heartwarming, chaotic, dramatic. Just a bit of everything you’d want and if you’ve read Christopher Moore before, exactly what you’ve come to love about his writing.

This book had more of Moore's irreverent and satirical humor, something I had grown accustomed to in the other few of his books that I've read. Even though I found it entertaining. this book didn't measure up to "Lamb". "A Dirty Job" started off strong but around the mid-point of the book it lost a little of its luster.

Full of toxic masculinity and misogyny. Not even remotely funny.

After finishing the trilogy of Pocket's explorations, and enjoying Lamb, I decided to dive into this piece. Absolutely hilarious, the nervousness of the main character in his new found role in life, and the comedy from his daughter. The voices are read wonderfully by Fisher Stevens. Would like to thank my local public library for bringing the works of Mr. Moore to my attention. Highly Recommend!
