This series is going strong! Diving right into the final book after this one. I'm still not too impressed with the characters, particularly with the protagonist, but the twists and turns of the story carried this book really well, just like they did with Pines.

I said this on my last Blake Crouch book review, but he doesn't disappoint. Unfortunately I was impatient and couldn't wait for my local library to get the first book, Pines, in so I started with Wayward. It can be a stand alone book, though I am sure the first one will give me the background of this book.

Ethan finds himself in Wayward after being in suspension for two thousand years. He joins his wife and son. He takes orders from Plicher and finds that there is some weird things going on in this picture perfect town. He is sent on a mission to find the person who killed Plicher's daughter. Ethan's old partner, who is in Wayward, becomes the prime suspect. She shows him what the wanderers actually do when they go out at night and this is the part in the book where Blake does his magic. I won't give it away, but at every end of chapter I said I was going to bed, but ended up reading 90 pages straight through to the end. He keeps the suspense and story line going. Well written, and can't wait to read the other two books in this series.

HOLY SHIT! I wasn’t quite sure where this book would go but oh my lord I am locked in. I liked that we got to explore more of the world in this book and our understanding of it. I loved the introduction of the new POVs. I did guess one of the twists at the end but the other completely caught me off guard.

4.25 stars. I flew through this book! I didn’t think the second book would be as good as the first but it absolutely was!
