Mostly enjoyable. Just basic popcorn reading. I liked the first enough to pick up the second. I'll likely continue on.

The ending of book one; where we really find out what is going on is nothing compared to this book. Whoa! In the end, Wayward was a good idea, if you are not a megalomaniac, psychotic, sociopath intent on ruling; even at the expense of loved ones.

Why kidnap and lie to people?? What is the reason to keep everyone behind a fence, that truly could not keep them safe from a true onslaught of abbies?? Why are Pilcher and his crew safe inside the mountain, and these fake-ass residents kept in a Leave it to Beaver UNreality??? Pilcher killed his family to keep his horrendous dictatorship going; no reason to ask him to turn the lights back on, right???

I am still in shock as to the cruelty of other humans. Even if they are characters in a book. Let's not even discuss Fetes...
