I didn't realise how long it had been since I last read this series, but it must have been a good few years because BOY is it a time capsule of the 2010s. I mean this in the best possible way - it captures the zeitgeist of the new 10s like Scott Pilgrim did for the 00s.

It's an amazing book (as is everything in WicDiv) but honestly even if it wasn't I'd give this 5 stars, because I'm a sucker for anything that accurately portrays places I've been and this was set almost entirely at Fantheon (basically London MCM but for god-musicians) at the London ExCel. You can tell that Gillen and McKelvie have spent far more time there than any human being rightfully should, and they capture it perfectly.

Whoa. I never thought I would get into a graphic novel series, but the art and reinterpretations of the gods just win me over. Plus, THAT ENDING!!!!!

What. The hell. Just happened? Holy mother of cliffhangers, Batman!

There is a quote in this book, at the end of issue 11. "It was never going to be okay."

Man, they weren't kidding.

I know, everybody love this series but I don't think I'll read the next volumes. Basically, I hate every single character.

Built nicely on the first one. The ending definitely caught me by surprise. Unfortunately the only question it left me with was "what are they possibly going to pull out of their hats make the next one compelling after (insert spoiler here)"? And that's not quite enough to get me to buy it.
