I don’t think I will forget this book.

To start off, the author dives right in to some heavy themes and she doesn’t hold back. Be prepared for that- but as you progress through the book you can tell that her descriptiveness and inclusion of the ‘uncomfortable’ topics all related back to the story, the emotions and actions of the characters.

There are surprises along the way, great character development and an unexpected ending to this book.

Too much about masks being put on and taken off.
Also very cringe whenever I hear the term 'baby' ( i.e. baby lawyer) added to the beginning of a profession. These are adults, not children and it's condescending.

Other than that, the idea of rhe story was good, but a bit too long.

I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I never knew what was coming next. The characters are well developed and there were no plot holes(that I noticed).  Dr Jerry is my favorite character ever written.

Sisters Callie and Leigh have a special bond. When they were teens, they helped each other to cover up a crime. Now, as adults many years later, they are each living very different lives. Callie is a self described junkie who shoots up to cope with her pain. Leigh is a newish lawyer with a husband and teen daughter. Randomly one day, a witness neither of them had previously known saw their crime, comes out of the woodwork and begins playing head games with the sisters. He threatens to expose their crime if they don’t do what he wants. They must figure out how to keep him from exposing them while trying to get out of the terrible mess he has brought about.
